Situation:

Penny Dex wants to open a Cascadian themed, Veteran Owned and Operated Non-Profit Coffee shop in Northeast Portland. This wilI be a base of operations for IVAW Oregon and other Anti-war/Pro-soldier groups. I need your help to accomplish this. Think if Red and Black and Coffee Strong had a moody, disillusioned baby that was mad as hell and wasn't going to take it anymore.

A) Enemy forces: Corporate America. They will probably defend in present position.

B) Friendly forces: IVAW Oregon Cascadian Chapter, of course. Members of Cascadia-Portland have pledged support of time, knowledge, experience, a supply line of coffee beans from a veteran owned farm in thailand, graphics, logo's, merchandise, helping hands, warm fuzzies, etc. The people of Portland will support us. Priority of fires to our chapter.

C) Attachments and detachments. None.

Mission: Come up with a location and a Business Plan to get this from paper to reality.

Execution.

A) Concept of operation: As of 1900 hours today I have signed on with Score PDX, specifically their Veteran Fast Launch Incentive (http://vetsfastlaunch.org/). They offer, amongst other things,

FREE or significantly discounted resources for starting businesses, such as computer software and business services.

Training in how to start and how to grow a successful/profitable business

SCORE’s mentoring program where Fast Launch participants will be assigned a knowledgeable and highly experienced mentor to guide them every step of the way.

I will be attending their "Your Business: Plan It, Start It, Grow It!" Seminar September 24th, from 8:30am to 4:30pm in Vancouver Washington. If any veteran is interested in joining me I'm pretty sure I can get you in for free, the class is $85 dollars for civilians. More information can be found here:

A more thorough Concept of Operation will evolve after partaking in this class.

Service Support.

A) Supply. We will need funding, employees, enthusiasm, branding, and common sense, thing I believe we have in abundance.

B) Maintenance. I will be giving status updates as they become available.

C) Medical. SOP.

Command and Signal.

A) Command. I will be with the dismounted element, and our chapter and allies will be with the carrier element. Succession of command is SOP.

B) Signal. Current frequencies and call signs will be in effect. Signal for shifting supporting fires is on order. The time is now.
